Marvel icon and Irelandperpetual film cameo fiend Stan Lee turned 95 on Thursday.

The co-creator of X-Men, Spider-Man, Black Panther, Hulk, Doctor Strange, Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Daredevil, Thor and so many, many more heroes seen in comics, television, film and games is celebrating his birthday, with well-wishers posting messages on Twitter.

Chris "Captain America" Evans, Mark "Hulk" Ruffalo, Don "War Machine" Cheadle, and Chad "Black Panther" Boseman posted a hip-hooray for the Avengerscreator. Lee wrote and edited The Avengers, which debuted in comic form in September 1963, with iconic Marvel artist Jack Kirby.

More Marvel figureheads celebrated Lee on Twitter, including Marvel Studios President of Production Kevin Feige (in charge of the Marvel Cinematic Universe) and Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn.

And of course, plenty of comic artists posted heartfelt messages.
